Holiday’s time is a time for giving. Friendship and love are in the air. It’s like everyone opens their heart to help and that’s simply wonderful! Designers involved in the NKBA® – National Kitchen and Bath Association; are, one more time, returning to the community in Broward County the support received throughout the year from it.
This coming Saturday, December 17, fifteen designers from the South Florida Chapter will donate their morning to help Habitat for Humanity® in the construction of one house at the Villages of Fort Lauderdale. The volunteers work in different areas of the home remodeling according to their knowledge and expertise.
Last year on August 21, Design is Everywhere™ was represented at similar event. Our two participants painted and helped with roofing for two different houses. What a great day! It was a fantastic experience not only for us but for the entire group of participants. To be involved with Habitat for Humanity® at any level, is a great way to give hope to the ones less fortunate in need of a home. And anyone can help!
Habitat® is present around the world helping to fight poverty housing and the homeless through programs that provide simple but affordable, decent shelter to those who live in poor conditions or are homeless. In the U.S., the organization lends no-profit, no interest loans to those who qualify for their program. There are several ways to help this non-profit organization. Donate a few hours of your time and working at construction sites is not the only one. From spreading the word to helping with monetary donations; to donating cabinets, furniture and other used items, to buying used household supplies from Habitat® Re-stores; are some of the many ways to help. Visit www.habitat.org for more information and make a difference in someones life!
Three Re-stores are in our area. West Palm Beach, Boca Raton and Fort Lauderdale house locations that receive and re-sell construction material and furniture, some new, some used but in good shape and conditions, to support the case. Contact the stores for donations or go there to buy something you need.
Let’s help to make the season a little sweeter for the homeless! Get involved!
